Strong against slow styles in PvP. If an opponent cannot punish your approach, you control the pace.
Weaknesses
Low sustain if the opener misses. Thunder has no real answer to a whiffed engage beyond disengaging.
Short reach on later forms. Once you are in, you have to stay in.
Punishable on cooldown. With Z, X, C and V now slower to release, the window between your engage and your follow-up is exactly where good players will hit you.

Yes, but you pay a new fee and lose progress on Thunder’s forms. The Shop sells a Reset Breathing for 100 Robux, though the same reset sits on the Ore tab for 7 Ore — which is farmable from chests and quest turn-ins. Treat the first choice as semi-permanent.
Is Thunder still worth picking after the nerf?
It remains a strong alternative rather than the default pick. Its damage and ultimate are intact, and it is still the fastest way to close a gap. If you want the current top of the meta, Flame and Wind sit above it.
Do I need Thunder to reach Final Selection?
No. Final Selection needs level 45 and a breathing style with at least three forms unlocked — any style qualifies. Fast styles like Thunder and Water do make the survival timer easier, but that is a comfort difference, not a requirement.
